HKU Business School Alumni Get-Together: A Night of Reconnections

Supported by HKUBSAA, the Alumni Get-Together event proved to be a resounding success, commemorating an evening of nostalgia, laughter, and heartfelt reconnections among our business school alumni.

This fantastic evening brought together 70 of our alumni across various cohorts. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as alumni reconnected with old friends, shared hearty laughter, and reminisced about their memorable time at HKU Business School.

What truly stood out was the enduring camaraderie that our alumni share. The evening was a testament to the strength of our alumni community, their commitment to the School, and their unwavering support for one another.

Cultural Exchange Tour to Guangzhou: Building Bridges in the Greater Bay Area

HKUBSAA’s cultural exchange tour to Guangzhou concluded on a high note. A delegation of 30 alumni from HKU Business School delved into its rich historical heritage and vibrant cultural tapestry, and the delegation was privileged to be received by Midea Group in Foshan.

The tour kicked off with a visit to the historical site Yuyin Shanfang (餘蔭山房), a stunning ancient dwelling nestled amidst picturesque mountains and gardens. The delegation then ventured to Yong Qing Fang (永慶坊) where our alumni immersed themselves in the vibrant atmosphere, historical houses, and unique shops.

A highlight of the visit was the exclusive visit to Midea Group in Foshan, a world-leading enterprise in Smart Home Business, Energy Solutions & Industrial Technology, Intelligent Building Technology, Robotics & Automation, and Innovation Business. Upholding the company motto of “Be the Game Changer”, our alumni gained valuable insights into the company’s cutting-edge technologies and they exchanged views on emerging opportunities presented on Greater Bay Area’s development.

The talent strategy of Midea Group, which emphasizes that ‘A single talent that is beneficial to the development of our enterprise means more to us than short term profit,’ further underscores their commitment to nurturing and retaining top talent. We firmly believe that these precious opportunities allow us to forge connections among the talents from Hong Kong and Shenzhen, fostering collaboration and facilitating the development of the Greater Bay Area.

HKUBSAA has always been committed to fostering the personal and professional growth of our members, this cultural exchange tour has been a remarkable experience for our alumni, forging valuable connections between them and the abundant opportunities in the Greater Bay Area. We encourage all members to actively participate in various activities organised by HKUBSAA, leveraging our extensive network and support to expand connections and fortify the alumni community.
